Eucharist is the Christian word for the sacrament, Communion. Eucharist is also the Greek word for Thanksgiving. Eucharist symbolizes community. This piece is representative of a focal point for the LGBTQIA+ community to share, much like religions share a focal center point when participating in communion. When thinking about religion in the queer community, I find myself having conversations about queer youth being forced into religion.

The intersection of faith and queer identity can be a challenging terrain to navigate. For many, the Eucharist serves as a reminder of connection, acceptance, and belonging. It's crucial to create spaces where queer youth can explore their faith without the weight of enforced doctrine. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, we should celebrate the diverse expressions of spirituality within the LGBTQIA+ community.

Encouraging open dialogue around faith can help dismantle the guilt and shame often inflicted by religious institutions. By fostering an inclusive environment, we allow for rich narratives where love, gratitude, and personal truth coexist harmoniously. After all, what could be more sacred than creating a community where everyone feels they can partake in the feast of life, truly welcomed and cherished for who they are?
